David Maxa grew up in Prague. He studied Religious and Jewish Studies at the Charles University in Prague and the University of Bayreuth, Germany. He worked as a Torah teacher at the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) Kutz Camp in the USA in 2013. Since 2014 he has been enrolled as a rabbinical student at the Abraham Geiger College in Germany. He has had internships in various congregations all over Europe including Bielefeld, Germany and Westminster Synagogue, London, as well as in Prague and other communities in the Czech Republic. He loves leading participatory services, and engaging and working with people of all generations. He enjoys finding new ways to make Judaism accessible in post-Holocaust and post-Communist Europe.
