Linda Thorn has a B.A. Honours in Speech and Hearing Therapy, B.A.Honours in Psychology, and a M.A. in General Linguistics. Linda is a founding member and previous chair of the Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments (CLaSH), for which she was selected as a finalist for the Namibian Businesswoman of the Year award in 1996. She has been an active member of the South African Speech Hearing and Language Association (SASLHA), serving as chair of the Western Cape chapter and on the ethics and coding committees. She runs a busy private practice in Milnerton, Cape Town, and is a member of the board of Mosaic.
Linda is currently Vice President of Temple Israel in Cape Town and chair of the synagogue council of Temple Israel of West Coast, Cape Town. She represents Progressive Judaism and Temple Israel on the Cape Zionist Council. She is an executive member of the South African Union for Progressive Judaism (SAUPJ). Linda is married to Brian and they have 3 children: Michael, Nadia and Jessica.
