Maoz Haviv Gelibter
Maoz Haviv Gelibter was born in a small village in the center of Israel in 1941. He became an active member of an Israeli youth movement, which led him to kibbutz life at age 18. He served in the Nahal and paratroopers brigade of the army. Later he went on his first Shlichut to the youth movement in Haifa for two years, and then received his teaching certification from Oranim College when it was part of the national kibbutz movement. Maoz has spent time as an emissary to camps and youth movements around the world, including NFTY in North America from 1994-1996. Maoz has a B.A. from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and won a prize for youth writers. Maoz has served as the Director of Netzer Olami since 1996. He was married for 39 years to Tikva (z”l), is a parent to four children, and grandfather to two.
