Yael Cobano was born in Ceuta, a small multicultural Spanish city on the north coast of Africa, and is the founder and President of the young Reform Jewish Community of Madrid. She holds a University degree in Law and a Masters in Intelligence Analysis. She has been trained by seminars of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), Reform Judaism UK, Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and European Council of Jewish Communities (ECJC) in different aspects such as Jewish education, liturgy, creating projects and security. She has been a chair of and speaker at different sessions in the URJ and European Union for Progressive Judaism (EUPJ) conferences. Her passions are knowledge, social action, literature, and joining people around a foodie table with good conversation.
